Christmas came early

So I'm either a giveaway applying addict or I'm just really lucky! There's never a chance i will turn down entering a competition or for the blogger world, a giveaway. I always love a good giveaway, it's a great idea to find new viewers and one gets a prize at the end of it, do i say any more? But yeah, i was so so so lucky enough to actually win not one, but two?! No idea how but I'm so happy with the prizes that were sent to me and i can't thank the ladies themselves enough!

I won these prizes from a Twitter follow and RT from the lovely lady Heather, got check out her blog if you haven't it's a great one. Literally baffled by the quality of gifts she has given me and i can't thank her enough!

And the second giveaway i won was a blog giveaway from the lovely miss Emma Lou who generously set up a massive giveaway, i mean... Look at how big that box is!!! Crazy stuff but i'm so happy with everything i received and can't wait to try them all :).

I've never won a thing in my life like this, has any of you ever struck lucky before?

Models Own team up with Dogs Trust

Nothing more do I adore when I see products I love team together with charities, i'm not a huge charity person myself but animals have a very huge special place in my heart, and i will always connect to them on an emotional level, sad or not, i just love animals, a lot more than the human species most of the time...

I found this item on a sponsored tweet on twitter, you know those random tweets that pop up on your feed from time to time. Normally it's about random shit no one cares about but for once twitter did good in finding me their eBay page, also stating that 100 percent of the funds they collect from this nail polish will support the Dogs Trust charity. So i feel good right now, knowing I've donated at least something to help such a wonderful charity. It cost me £6.50 including the postage which isn't bad considering it's for a good cause. And even if i don't tend yo wear much gold, i'll know that my purchase helped in some little way of its own.

I thought I'd just write a short little post this weekend as I've been so busy this week with starting work, it's been non-stop and I'm honestly looking forward for a long hot bath to soak my aching body in. It'll all be worth it when the payments start coming in, I'm loving to too and everyone is so nice and friendly towards me.

Have you ever donated to Charity? I wanna know your thoughts on them in the comments, lets get a discussion going!

Gingerbread House Goodness

I'd suggest you go into an ASDA store and grab one of these for for a fiver because they are so fun! You basically get the gingerbread parts and you build it and decorate it yourself! As i didn't have any spare sweets i used the yummy goodies they included with the parts, which is great because normally the sweets included normally taste rank. My tracing skills aren't that good but i bloody well tried my best! It was seriously so fun to do though and really gets me into the festive mood. The gingerbread smells are overwhelmingly yummy, seriously smell so good. I don't know whether to look at it or demolish it, it's too pretty to touch!

I've got a Job!

Serious talk now, i like to do that ever once in a while to balance out the realness of my posts, and just cause i want to talk to the people who read my blog posts, that's if anyone ever does. But yeah for months and months i have been searching for a job after i left college in May, no luck whatsoever. I guess it comes down to the fact i have no retail experience and that's what employers in shops and supermarkets look at nowadays, not at my grades, just experience. It's been a pretty shit year for me to be honest, my confidence disappearing and motivation next to zero, i really needed something to boost myself to help me get back on track with real life. Having hardly any money and drifting away from a lot of people i wish i never did can get very lonely and very sad quickly.

I feel like the dark clouds have finally moved away from me and having a job offer from somebody i know has completely changed my perspective in life. All i needed was one person to give me a chance, knowing i had no experience in next to nothing, really boosted me. I know I'm getting proper deep into emotions and stuff but i honestly feel like a better person, and i haven't even started working yet. But I'm literally so excited to be working, it being my first job i know the nerves will come swimming in on my first day but i just feel like I'm going to learn so much from this experience and i can't wait to start.

The job I've managed to grab is in a gift shop in my local town, the manager is a friend of my mum and dad, she likes to keep her workers close as her daughter and her daughters best friend also work there. I'm excited to start next week, plus there's a 25% staff discount and I'm already eyeing up several Yankee Candles in there! ;). I just thought i'd share with you guys cause i like to get serious every once in a while to keep you updated with things, if that's okay with all of you :).

Hope everyone's having a lovely Sunday.

My Secret Santa package!

You have no idea how excited i was to get mail today! I completely forgot about the Secret Santa project i found on Jess's blog, i was too busy hoping the package i sent off was safe and sound with its new owner! Its seriously got me in the mood for Christmas now and i can't thank Helen from teainthetub enough! I'm happy to have gotten products I've never tried before, that's always a fun adventure of its own. I'm kind of ashamed to say I've NEVER tried a soap and glory product, yeah kind of embarrassing to the blogging community but I'm glad I've had the chance to start now!

I feel like Helen really had a good idea of what she knew I'd like, it's crazy because I've never spoke to her properly, only on twitter with #fblchats! So I'm really happy to have gotten the gifts she bought me and can't wait to try them out :).

Has anyone else taken part in a secret santa this year? How exciting is it? :)

My saviour lip products this winter.

So i had a long word with myself, and decided i need to get out of this bad patch of crappiness and get motivated again, moping and feeling bad for myself isn't good for me and i know i need to keep my mind occupied with good things to feel better. So i feel like attempting Blogmas is way to help me, i feel like I'll feel 10x better after i blog more. So here's my official first post, having a personal one starting December off i thought I'd get things cracking now! I probably won't post every day but it won't hurt in missing a few days!
(Please excuse the poor lighting, i chose to take photos way too late..)

Winter. You have been awful to me so far, lip and skin wise. Finding myself with horribly chapped lips causing my habit of picking my lips, bad bad idea. I hate that I have this habit, it's hard not to though. A huge outburst of cold-sores have landed on my bottom lip, even under my lip, how glamorous. So I've really needed some help trying to tame the beasts that live on my lip, such painful things too :(.

I've been applying Cymex cream to them to help calm the soreness down and hopefully help shrink it until it's finally disappeared (hopefully anyway). It definitely is a must have for me, it helps to soften the hard cracks and you literally only need the tiniest dab of cream on the end of your finger to fully cover the sore cuts or sores on your lips.

To keep moisture to my lips, I've been using the same brand of lip balms for years. Lypsyl give such great moisture without it feeling to sticky on your lips, plus that lovely smell of cherry keeping my lips tasting and feeling sweeter. I'm a sucker for cherry products, no idea why.

Of course, Maybellines Baby Lips that everyone has raved about is also something i have kept on my daily lip wear, as it's a nice moisture to my lips also and it gives that sheen effect that some lip balms don't do. I don't see why people swatch these products as they show next to no pigment but that isn't a problem for me at all.

For my last product is something I've only recently bought but learned to love which is a Lush Lip Scrub in the flavour Bubblegum, for it's crazy price of £5.50 (that's a lot for me considering it's a lip product). It's a great scrub to use on my lips to get rid of any dead skin or rougher, more chapped parts of my lips. Plus it tastes so sweet, sometimes too sweet but it's never a problem to me!

I'm so glad i've started Blogmas, i feel so much better already. That's just what blogging does for me, and i  hope i can keep this up.

What are your favourite lip balms? And your must haves for lip care?
Do let me know in the comments.

Hello December

It's so scary how quick this year has gone, yet it feels like the first few months were years ago! Time change is crazy and weird, and i don't like how fast it goes lately. I'm looking forward to getting into the Christmas spirit and reading everyone's festive posts, although myself i am not inspired for this month at all. I was looking forward to getting a Boots beauty calendar ready to tell you all about my gifts i receive for each day, but i guess i went to buy too late and everywhere is sold out :(. (Except for eBay where there are many going for up to £70! Do you think I'm made of money?!) So that kind of shook me a bit and discouraged me as i was so looking forward to blogging this month, but now as the days come by quickly, my mind is blank and it's horrible! Maybe some blog inspiration can help me well and i'll get right back into the spirit.

Don't you just hate those times we're you feel not so good and you feel like everything is just a chore and nothing is making you happy one bit? I'm hopefully over that now because blogging and writing is such a great thing for me, it really is a great hobby and I'd never want to stop, so hopefully you'll see some more posts from me soon, that's not if my mind's exploded by then!

Thanks for sticking by, it means a lot to me.

My favourite items of leisure right now

Now this is a completely different post for me, as i normally just ramble about things i've bought and pictures i've taken, i thought i'd mix my blog up a bit and put more variety into it. As i'm unemployed at the moment, i have a lot of spare time, and it gets very boring very quickly. Other than cleaning the house and cooking my dinners in the day, i haven't got much else to do (someone hire me please!!) So i made a little post about items that have saved my boredom quite a lot recently. This probably wont be a monthly thing unless i actually buy things monthly to keep my boredom levels from rising, but anyhow lets get started!

I have never been a book person, my attention span is awful and i tend to forget what's happened in any book that i start to read. Is anybody else like that? But I'm trying my hardest to start reading, as it's soo relaxing and i love reading descriptive books. I've had two of The Beautiful Dead books since I was in year 10 at school, which is over 4 years now, oops.. I've read the first book and i loved it so much, so I finally started the next one and hopefully won't leave it for another 4 years... I'm trying to find where they sell the series and every shop I've been into don't have them any more :(.
I'm a huge Vampire Diaries fan and I'm currently watching the new series on itv2, which is amazing by the way. So i thought I'd start on the books (there are so many oh dear) and it's so descriptive! I'm 5 chapters in and it's probably only described the first 10 minutes of the very first episode. I forgot how descriptive books are.

I've also recently got into the Harry Potter films (10 years late eh?). I watched the first two films when they actually came out, I still have them on video, yeah video... I never stuck to them and I regret it so much, I watched the Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire and they're such amazing films, I cried like a baby at Goblet of Fire, Cedric noo! :(. So i'm really excited to dive into the world of Hogwarts, it's so interesting and I'm just sad i never watched them sooner.

I've had my original Nintendo DS since they came out, which is around 9 years ago now, and mine still works perfectly so i never had a reason to buy a new one. I've recently started playing Animal Crossing a lot, it's such a relaxing game and it gets so addicting. Plus it's actually made me want to buy a new 3DS so I can buy the new Animal Crossing game, which I'll hopefully get for Christmas. I'm still a child inside but there's nothing wrong with that is there?

My ultimate saviour for any boring day is my music, I cannot live without it. Music is a real passion for me, and i can't go a day without listening to some sort of music, whether I'm out and using my iPod, listening to the radio or even watching music videos on the television. I have no fixed genre i listen to, my music taste ranges from alternative music to pop, to rap, hip hop, anything really. I like to keep an open mind with music, i can't stand people who only stick to one genre, like how can you do that!?

I hope this post wasn't too boring and i didn't ramble on too much. As I love writing, writing posts like these makes me so happy and it keeps my brain occupied. I literally never have to think of what to write as it all just rolls of my brain so perfectly and it's something that I'll always enjoy, I'd never want to write if I felt forced and wasn't enjoying myself.

So my question is, what do you do to keep yourself occupied when you have time off? Lew me know in the comments below :3

Birmingham German Market

I love Christmas! Pretty much for the gorgeous décor and items that come out this time of a year. Last night i visited Birmingham for their yearly German Market, and I've never seen such a beautiful decorated place, the decorations were so pretty. Despite feeling like a bag of poop now from the super cold weather, i really enjoyed visiting the markets once again, i hadn't been for a few years so it was great to see what was still there and what was new. The photos where took off my iPhone so not as great quality but i knew i couldn't miss out on capturing some of the things i saw.

The gorgeous smells of fragrances, sweets, delicious food and everything else is my favourite part. It's a great experience despite the drunken fools everywhere as there are many beer and wine stands!

Face Cleansers I've tried

Now i don't know if you feel the same, but i find it such a hassle to try and find a perfect, every day face wash. Because 9 times out of 10 none of them work for me. So now all i have left is a bunch of bottles in the bathroom with hardly any use, thank god i have a brother that uses them too, at least they aren't wasted. So i thought i'd just talk through my skin woes and some products i've picked up.

Clean and Clears Daily Wash
What it states it does: Helps clears spots fast, helps keep them away and doesn't over dry your skin.
What it did: To be honest i should have noticed the last part to start with, my skin often dries out and it stating it won't over dry my skin is probably a huge no. As what it said, it did dry my skin out and made it feel tight and uncomfortable. So this product didn't do much for me at all.
Rating: 4/10

Garnier Anti-blackhead Deep pore wash
What it states it does: Unclogs pores, helps to prevent blackheads and clear impurities.
What it did: Overall, it was an okay product. The beads in the product itself really helped to dig deep into my pores and clean it a lot better than just a normal creamy consistency. The only downside was that it left dry patches when i'd dry my face, but a little cream can help get rid of that.
Rating: 7/10

Neutrogena Daily Scrub
What it states it does: Helps eliminate and prevent blackheads for up to 3 weeks. Unclogs pores  to remove trapped oil and dirt.
What it did: Its smell and consistency was quite weird, it was really creamy and the exfoliating beads didn't really feel like they were there, they were hardly visible and didn't do much. It refreshed my face so much, as soon as it was applied it was like I was chewing a really minty gum and just took my breath away, but not in a good way.
Rating: 4/10

T-Zone Deep Pore Cleansing Cream Wash
What it states it does: Deeply cleanses and unclogs pores without over-drying skin. Removed make-up gently but effectively, Cooling and uplifting - leaves skin clear and refreshed.
What it did: Its creamy texture was really nice on my skin and it did refresh my skin so much. Didn't dry out my skin at all, but it did feel tighter, overall a lovely skin product which made my skin feel so much smoother.
Rating: 8/10

I think I've come to the conclusion that my skin just doesn't want to enjoy any face wash! I'll have to continue my quest to find a face wash to suit my skins needs, but even some that I've tried can be fixed with putting some cream on after I've dried my skin.

Barry M Mint Green NOTD

Am i the only one who just simply adores the colour mint green? I think it's such a gorgeous colour and i seriously want my nails to look this pretty forever. I was in love with MUAs Pisachio green colour nail polish but i think Barry M has just beat that, seriously so pretty! Specially with paler hands, it gives it a little colour without it being too overwhelming, i love it so much! Maybe being pale can pay off sometimes, certain products help me feel better in the colder seasons where i'm getting no colour on my skin what so ever.

Also do you like my new ring? I was browsing rings and my boyfriend surprised me and bought it me for our 2 year anniversary, i love it so much :).

I haven't grown my nails in so long, does anyone else have a nail biting problem? I may be overcoming this habit, yay!

Recent Purchases | ♡

I've never actually done one of these posts before so i thought I'd make one seeing as I've been doing a lot of retail therapy recently...

Make-up bag twin set - £7 from Superdrug
I needed a new make-up bag so badly, i might not have much make up but i like knowing i have space to fill up with new products, i loved the patterns so much and i use the smaller bag for my hairbands and clips etc.

Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation in Ivory - £4.99 in Wilkinsons
I desperately needed a new foundation and i spotted this in the 'Under 5 pounds Sale' in Wilkinson, it seemed like a great price so i got the lightest shade (yay for being pale...) and it works perfectly. Great coverage and makes my skin look way better.

Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me - £2.99 in Boots
I caved in and had to get myself one... I've always been a fan of cherry and i love the smell. It applies well and lasts for a while, so all in all it's a great product.

Garnier Moisture Match in Combination to Oily Skin - £4.99 in Bodycare
After trying out the samples Garnier sent me, i wasn't too sure with which cream i should get. My face has always been oily and dry and it's always been a huge pain, but i opted for the mattifying cream, which i have no complaints so far as my face is looking less oiler already, and not so dry so that's a bonus.

MUA Mascara - £1 in Superdrug
I saw plenty of reviews about this mascara being such a great product despite it's super cheap price, so i picked one up and i agree, it makes my lashes look lovely and it's super easy to remove.

MUA Felt Eye-liner - £2 in Superdrug
I really needed a new eye-liner as i was running out, so i bought this out of panic and I'm not too fond at the moment. It's probably because I'm useless at applying eyeliner and I've never had a felt eyeliner before so i guess it needed getting used to and getting the hang of it.

Yay for hauls! Feels good being able to buy things for myself, and it didn't cost much doing so!
Have you tried any of these products, let me know

My first Fragrance Direct order!

In the blogger world of beauty, you've all probably heard of this website before. I heard someone mention it in a tweet months ago and i decided to check the website out, to see what it was all about. And I'm actually shocked at some of the prices on there! If you've never been on there before it's basically high street brands but their prices are cut to crazy cheap prices! Basically my heaven, with an exception of £2 postage, which is a steal for the items i bought off there recently. I bought four items altogether, two being Christmas presents for someone (the lipsticks).
From left to right
Rimmel Glam Eyes Liquid Liner in Plum - 99p
Essie Nail Polish 13.5ml in Fear & Desire - £1.99
Calvin Klein Luxury Creme Lipstick in Delightful - £1.99
Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Funtime Fuchsia - 99p

I am delighted to have found this website as i feel you really do get amazing quality items for such great prices, the website is so easy to use and the delivery only takes around 5 days (but you can chose a dearer option to get your products here quicker). The only fault i have with the website is that they need to update it, i've been on numerous items and clicked on a colour i wanted of the item to find out that they've sold out even thought it says it's in stock. But other than that, I suggest you build your Christmas list as you can get so much for so little!

Have you ever been on this website, was you satisfied with your products? Let me know in the comments below :)

♡ Barry M Haul ♡

So i might have gone a bit crazy with Superdrugs 3 for the price of 2 offer on products, maybe... I noticed Barry Ms whole isle was included in this offer, I was already looking at Barrys Ms nail polishes as i hadn't bought any nail polishes in forever and I was having withdrawal symptoms from making my nails look pretty. So i went and got three the one day, and cause i loved the colours so much i went back the next day and got more... Oops. Retail nail therapy feels good doesn't it?
I'm so chuffed i finally got a matte black nail polish, i've been drooling over it for months now and noticed Barry M had a matte selection (yay). It's currently on my nails as i type this, by far one of my favourite nail polishes ever. I'll hopefully do some reviews for these in a future post and get my nail wheels out handy.

What nail polish brand are you obsessing over currently?! I've always loved Barry M personally, nice and affordable.

Real Techniques Dupe brushes

Being a person who has not much knowledge towards make-up brushes, i really had no idea what to look for when browsing for different brushes. So my current brushes are pretty useless and didn't do me much good when applying powder and foundation.. But after reading into the much loved Real Techniques reviews all you lovely people had written about, i fell in love with those brushes! Seeing the prices of them i did cry a little, must be a good set to be so expensive! (Well, expensive for me anyways). But luckily i came across these dupes on another blog post and was so happy to see the brushes being sold here for much, much cheaper... I literally cannot believe how cheap they are?! Yeah they might be dupes but good dupes they are.
I bought two brushes as i only really need brushes for my foundation and powder, being a total make-up newbie i don't wear much. But these brushes are amazing! The bristles are so soft ever after using make up and washing the brushes. Normally with cheaper brushes you find the bristles everywhere and not very sturdy, but these brushes work a treat, and not a bristle has fallen out and been blended into my face yet! I put my foundation on separately but messily with a simple brush and use the stippling brush to give it an even soft coverage and my face hasn't looked so good! (not trying to be vain).  I would recommend these purchases to anyone, even if you have the perfect set already, just under £2 for a brush isn't going to destroy your bank is it? Considering they're from Hong Kong, they only took just over a week to get here, even more of a plus!

Have you tried these? Or have you got the real thing? Let me know
